Orange Beach Refuge

This family lost their pier and boathouse during Hurricane Sally (see post hurricane pictures). They wanted to re-build what was lost while making some design changes to accommodate their current lifestyle. A customized roof piling layout in conjunction of the use of glulam beams was designed to provide a large, covered deck with minimal pilings allowing for an unobstructed layout.  A larger roof system can lack visual appeal – a cupola was constructed which not only is aesthetically pleasing busy also provides ventilation within the roof system.
